After months of writing, editing, revising, and more cups of coffee than I care to admit, I am excited to announce that Book Three of The Ghost Ships Trilogy, Phantom Armada: Final Reckoning, is complete and will be heading to publication soon.
What began as a single story about a mysterious disappearance right before an important peace conference has grown into a trilogy filled with ancient mysteries, alien civilizations, impossible choices, and characters who have become very real to me along the way.
As I prepare for the release of the final installment, I thought it might be fitting to introduce — or reintroduce — the character at the heart of the story.
Who Is Lieutenant Alastar Kar?
If you've read The Ghost Ships: Journey Into the Void, you already know that Lieutenant Alastar Kar is not your typical hero.
He isn't the strongest person in the room.
He isn't the smartest.
And he certainly doesn't have all the answers.
What he does have is an unwavering sense of duty and a stubborn refusal to abandon the people he cares about.
When readers first meet Alastar aboard the ISS Zephyr, he is a young officer trying to find his place in a vast and often dangerous galaxy. Over the course of the trilogy, he faces impossible decisions, devastating losses, and revelations that challenge everything he thought he knew about himself.
He discovers that his past is far more complicated than he ever imagined.
He learns that courage is not the absence of fear but the willingness to move forward despite it.
And he discovers that sometimes the greatest battles are not fought with weapons, but within ourselves.
One of the things I have always loved about Alastar is that he remains fundamentally human — even when faced with extraordinary circumstances. He makes mistakes. He doubts himself. He struggles. Yet he continues moving forward because others are counting on him.
As the events of Phantom Armada: Final Reckoning unfold, Alastar will face his greatest challenge yet. The fate of entire worlds may hang in the balance, but for him, the fight has always been about something much simpler: protecting the people he loves.
I cannot wait to share the conclusion of his journey with all of you.
Thank you to everyone who has supported The Ghost Ships Trilogy from the very beginning. Your encouragement, reviews, messages, and enthusiasm have meant more than you know.
The final chapter is approaching.
And the stars still have one more story to tell.
